The front cover of this wooden photo album is made of South American Canarywood, or Tarara. This wood is yellow to orange with streaks of red, purple and black, and is from Brazil and Bolivia. Bright solid brass hinges. Instructions included.

The back cover is Hard Maple, Rock Maple, or Northern Sugar Maple. This is the same tree that produces maple syrup. The almost white color gives the entire piece a very light and airy appearance.
Here is a closer look at the binding detail. The center strip is removed to allow for the pages that can be added. The other 2 strips are left in place to "sandwich" the pages between the top and bottom cover. If more pages are added, the strips can be removed to allow for them, or only a center strip can be used with pages on either side. Instruction sheet included.
