This set comes with the board, a matching box, and the piece set.  The solid wooden chess board measures 16" square and is constructed of dark chocolate brown Peruvian Walnut and highly figured hard Maple, which is the northern, or "sugar" Maple.  The playing squares are 2" and the finished board has a hand-rubbed poly finish.

The matching box is made from the same woods as the board, and features  a colorful Purpleheart trim and a hand carved African Blackwood knob.  It is about 9" square and a little over 5" tall.  I made 3 of these boxes as a "labor of love" - sold one and gave one to a school.  This is the last one, and I do not intend to make another one.

The pieces shown are Boxwood and Ebonized Boxwood.  They are weighted and felted.  The king measures 2-3/4" tall.  Extra queens included.
